about the

Bicentennial Celebration

by

Tyler C. 4th grade

The reason for the celebration was to celebrate the two hundredth birthday of our independence. The celebration had lots of fun games and activities. They had a spelling bee, sake races, egg toss ,greased pig catch where there is a greasy pig running and you catch it.Also they had a three leg race where you get a friend, stand side by side and tie your two middle legs together and it looks like you have three legs and start running. They also had tug-o-war and a soft ball game, Comanche V.S De Leon.We won, but Bo can't remember the score. The most memorable moment at the celebration was at one o'clock when every one rang their bells like the liberty bell did for freedom in 1776 two hundred years ago.The celebration ended with the singing of patriotic songs and a flag ceremony.
