Sheriffs

By Alexandria S. 3rd grade

I interviewed my grandmother. Her name is Mary Izquiedo. She worked in the sewing room. I asked her if there were any events in Comanche.

She said, "In The 60's Bell Bean retired as sheriff. And they hired sheriff Boykin." I asked how long he was sheriff. "He was sheriff until 1976." I asked if there were any special events during that time. But she said no.

Then I asked who the next sheriff was. "Shilo Gorman was the next sheriff. And in that same year Mr. Durham's Pharmacy was robbed. Three men were arrested for the murder of Mr. Durham. Now Mrs.. Durham has people sign a paper in order to keep her husband's killer in jail."

This is sheriff Boykin when he was a rodeo cowboy in 1926.
