Two years ago, the president announced the White House millennium project, a project that encourages all Americans to honor the past and imagine the future. A project that created a colony of 100 people who would live on mars in the year 2030. So our gifted and talented teachers, Mrs. Stepp and Mrs. Schuman, decided to do the magnificent, Mars 2030 project. Our project was divided in to five sections. Every grade, first through fifth, did a section. First grade did the residential housing. Second grade did commercial shopping center. Third grade did public facilities such as school, research center, church, library, museum, and the courthouse. Fourth did recreation such as sports dome, outside sports complex, agriculture, wildlife, farm, ranch complex, and wildlife reserve. Fifth did industrial and technology including transportation center, space station/ launch pad, manufacturing, power plant, and waste and treatment / recycle plant. Each group created a wonderful structure and labels.
